DTS, LG Partner To Launch 3D Phone

DTS Inc. (NASDAQ:DTSI) recently partnered with Korean mobile manufacturer LG Electronics (NYSE:LG) to develop its latest 3D smartphone LG Optimus (LG-P920).

The smartphone, which has debuted in Korea, is scheduled to release in more than 60 countries in the second half of 2011. The latest device is equipped with DTS’ high-performance audio technology and is supported by the tri-dual architecture.

The “tri-dual” configuration boosts performance, leveraging its dual-core, dual-channel and dual-memory architecture capabilities. LG Optimus is the world’s first smartphone, which can be used without the help of a 3D glass.

Verizon Wireless & Intuit Offer Mobile Credit Card Processing

Verizon Wireless and Intuit are making it easier for small businesses to accept credit card payments using smartphones or tablets with the introduction of Intuit’s GoPayment app and pocket-sized credit card reader. The card reader plugs into the audio jack of supported smartphones and tablets. You can then swipe a credit or debit card through the reader or enter information manually into the app. GoPayment supports select Android, BlackBerry, and iOS devices. Various pricing options for both the credit card reader and a GoPayment account are available.

HP tablet withdrawn after 4 days

HP’s Website, along with Amazon, continues to sell the HP TouchPad, despite announcing the tablet’s ignoble death.
Hewlett-Packard’s Website is still selling the HP TouchPad, the webOS tablet it has condemned to history’s dustbin of dead tech.

Those interested in purchasing a piece of future geek trivia can find the 16GB and 32GB versions on HP’s official shopping page for $399.99 and $499.99, respectively. Another HP page sings the virtues of webOS, complete with text claiming it’s “the smartest OS ever created.” For the moment, the tablet is also available on Amazon.

HP TouchPad price has crashed and the fire sale price has dropped to $99! It seems poor sales are making dealers sell out the HP Touchpad at unbelievable rates.

Asus Transformer | Sold Out at Best Buy

iPad probably not the only tablet computer that is easy to lure the consumer interest. Although Asus Eee Pad Transformer does not have big names such as iPad attraction, this Android tablets reportedly sells.
Reportedly Geek, Transformer tablets worth $ 399 16GB sold out online at Best Buy on the first day of sale.
Besides Best Buy, other online retailers like Amazon, Wall mart, Newegg and Target reported running out of stock. Retailers in Britain are reportedly experiencing the same thing. In addition, the Asus has released a statement promising to do more shipments in late April or early March.

Apple asked to explain Iphone tracker

A report from two researchers, Alasdair Allan and Pete Warden, at a technology conference in California raises questions about how much privacy you implicitly surrender by carrying around a smartphone. It also questions the responsibility of smartphone makers to protect the sensitive data that flows through their devices.

Much of the concern over iPhone and iPad tracking stems from the fact the computers are logging users’ physical coordinates without users knowing it - and that information is then stored in an unencrypted form that would be easy to find for a hacker, a law enforcement officer without a warrant… or maybe, even worse - a suspicious spouse.
