Tiger Woods takes blame, praises wife, hires Mark NeJame

Will Tiger Woods be an easier-to-handle client than George and Cindy Anthony?
 
Mark NeJame is about to find out. The world's No. 1 golfer has hired the high-profile Orlando defense attorney. NeJame will help guide Woods and his wife, Elin Nordegren Woods, through a public-relations thicket after the golfer injured himself in car accident outside his home early Friday. The incident has prompted worldwide speculation because of Woods' stature and the Woods' silence up to now on the crash.
NeJame told the Florida Highway Patrol that Woods would not meet with them today. Woods also released a statement: "This situation is my fault, and it's obviously embarrassing to my family and me. I'm human and I'm not perfect. I will certainly make sure this doesn't happen again."
Bright House Networks' Central Florida News 13 relayed the Woods headlines this afternoon, and anchor Janelle Jordan underscored that point with "as you saw first here on News 13."
NeJame is savvy when it comes to public relations. What's the game plan for the Woods?
They evidently  won't be sharing a lot of details. In his statement, Woods said, "This is a private matter and I want to keep it that way." He decried "malicious rumors" circulating about his family and praised his wife for her courage in helping remove him from the vehicle.

Anchor Jordan followed that line with this: "Of course, there has been rampant speculation that the crash may have followed a fight between Tiger and his wife." Will Woods' statement stop the speculation?
A neighbor's 911 call released today didn't mention Woods by name but noted the driver in trouble was in a black Escalade.
As for NeJame, he is familiar to Central Florida viewers for his trials, his commercials and his willingness to talk to the press. (He is the ex-husband of former WESH-Channel 2 anchor Wendy Chioji.) A year ago, he sounded off when he resigned from counseling George and Cindy Anthony. Their daughter, Casey, is charged with first-degree murder in the death of her daughter, Caylee.
As I wrote when NeJame resigned: The grandparents' dealings with the media surprised and stymied NeJame. His frustration undoubtedly resonated with viewers who have grown increasingly baffled by the grandparents' media methods.
"I need to be in control of my clients and I need to be in control of my cases," NeJame told WKMG-Channel 6's Louis Bolden. "And if I'm not, then I'm not as effective as I need to be."
WFTV-Channel 9's Kathi Belich said, "The Anthonys have been granting interviews and planning news conferences and then telling him [NeJame] about it after the fact." Belich added that Cindy Anthony had made TV appearances without NeJame's input.
"What's the sense of having an adviser if you're not going to follow your adviser's advice?" NeJame told Belich.
Well, yes. I bet Tiger Woods understands and appreciates that message.

The gossip columns are speculating a lot more was happening when Tiger Woods had his car accident earlier today.

It has been rumoured that Tiger Woods has been allegedly conducting an affair with Rachel Uchitel.

It seems that an argument started between Tiger and  Elin, over reports of the affair.

Woods was injured in the accident and taken to Health Central Hospital.

Supposedly his wife Elin Nordegren made the lacerations on his face and also came at him with a golf club while he was trying to drive off in the car.

Other reports say that Elin Nordegren used the golf club to help save her husband after the incident.

The alleged fight and incident is being reported by gossip website TMZ.

Rachel Uchitel claimed to be having an affair with Bones star David Boreanaz back in October.

It was shrugged off after being reported on the celebrity gossip sites after they had ran the story.

But if she will claim her attention she obviously is looking for, if this alleged affair with Woods, comes to light.

The National Enquirer reported about the affair, the tabloid not known for it's facts, said that a friend of Rachel's told them "Rachel told me, 'I'm having an affair with Tiger Woods. We're in love!' She even read me text messages Tiger sent her that said 'I love you, babe. It's always going to be just you and me. They were constantly sexting."

His lawyer had confirmed that Woods and Uchitel had met at a club, but denies all charges, to the National Enquirer print edition.

Police say alcohol was not a factor in the accident.

Alavi Foundation Is Iran Front, U.S. Says in Lawsuit November 12, 2009 at 9:32 pm The Alavi Foundation, part owner of a 36-story New York office tower, is a front for the government of Iran, the U.S. government alleged in a lawsuit seeking to seize the building. The U.S. today filed a new complaint in the 2008 lawsuit. The original case, which sought to seize the interest in the building held by ASSA Co., a company based in the U.K.'s Channel Islands, claimed the Iranian government's Bank Melli co-owned the building through ASSA. The new complaint seeks to seize the Alavi Foundation's interest in 650 Fifth Avenue as well, along with accounts and property the Alavi Foundation owns in New York, Maryland, Virginia, Texas and California. "The Alavi Foundation has effectively been a front for the government of Iran," U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara said in a statement. "For two decades, the Alavi Foundation's affairs have been directed by various Iranian officials, including Iranian ambassadors at the United Nations, in violation of a series of U.S. laws." The foundation, which has offices in New York, didn't immediately return a call for comment. Last year, the president of the foundation, Farhsid Jahedi, was arrested and accused by U.S. prosecutors of destroying documents. The case is pending. Jahedi denies the charges. The Alavi Foundation is a successor to one created in the 1970s by the late Shah Mohammed Reza Pahlavi. Pahlavi was overthrown as that country's leader in 1979. The building was constructed in 1979 by the Pahlavi Foundation, a nonprofit group set up by the Shah. Iran, the world's second-biggest holder of oil and natural- gas reserves, is subject to various U.S. sanctions over the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction. Daniel Ruzumna, a lawyer for the Alavi Foundation, didn't immediately return a call. The case is U.S. v. Mary Weiland on Destructive Marriage to Stone Temple Pilots' Scott Weiland November 12, 2009 at 1:00 pm Mary Weiland, estranged wife of Stone Temple Pilots' frontman Scott Weiland, dishes on her destructive marriage, drug use and mental illness in her new book, Fall to Pieces: A Memoir of Drugs, Rock 'n' Roll, and Mental Illness. In the memoir, which hit shelves Nov. 10, Mary Forsberg Weiland claims she and husband Scott Weiland spent much of their marriage strung out on heroin and crack. In one passage from the book, Weiland recalls they both had to wear long-sleeved shirts to a party thrown by Leonardo DiCaprio because of excess of needle marks on their arms. Weiland also details the "Weiland Wardrobe Bonfire" incident in March, 2007 that eventually landed her in a mental hospital. According to Weiland, she dragged her husband's wardrobe out into their driveway and set it on fire. "The bonfire was huge and very pretty. VDOT Snow Removal Will Remain Unaffected Says Mike Branham November 12, 2009 at 10:57 am Officials of Virginia Department of Transportation have declared that snow removal operation will remain as usual like every year and will not be affected due to layoffs and budget cuts. They said they consider snow removal as an emergency service and the level of service will not be compromised. Mike Branham, District Maintenance Engineer of VDOT said the next layoff announcement in coming winter will take effect in next year and maintenance employees will not be included in that. VDOT is prepared to handle any kind of situation and they have already made themselves ready for the task. According to the officials, VDOT is equipped with 239,000 tons of road salts and 2314 pieces of snow removal machinery to execute the task and make the roads clear. Bristol District got highest snow removal budget of $11.9 million out of $79.6 million for the entire state. Randy Felty, with his 25 years of experience in driving snow removal equipment for VDOT said only snow removal efforts from the Department is not enough is reduce the motor accidents in winter season. Motorist should be cautious and careful while driving. He advised to use alternate route using main roads in the winter as those will be cleared first.
