Philadelphia, New York, Boston Weather: Tornado Watch Issued

The watch region stretches from Maine to Pennsylvania and is in impact until 8 p.m. A watch means weather conditions are favorable for tornadoes and severe thunderstorms.

The National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch for much of the East Coast, which includes Philadelphia, New York and Boston.

A tornado touched down Wednesday afternoon in Springfield, Mass., causing considerable damage to buildings within the region.
